Where they are strong
- They ship alerts. Their listing advertises smart alerts and a weekly digest with daily performance notifications, spike and drop alerts, and Monday summaries — on iOS, now.
- The Android original has 10,000+ installs and 4.7★ from 274 ratings, so the alerting model is validated rather than theoretical.
- Home-screen widgets, a query watchlist, URL inspection with indexing status, sitemap view/submit/delete, PageSpeed with Core Web Vitals, an offline-first cache and multi-account support are all in the listing. Premium adds exports, Rising/Falling Movers and CTR Quick Wins.
- They run on iOS 17. We require iOS 26, so their app reaches phones ours cannot — that is a real advantage and it is not close.
- 4.9★, the highest rating in the category, on a listing updated the day before we last checked it.
Where they fall short
- The free tier caps properties — their listing states that Premium unlocks unlimited properties. On the Android version the free tier is limited to the top 25 queries.
- Nine overlapping in-app purchase tiers, including a weekly plan from $0.99, make it hard to work out what you will actually pay.
- No client grouping, white-label report or Lock Screen widget appears in the listing, so agency work is not what it is shaped for.
- The listing does not explain where your Google refresh token is stored in order to compute alerts while your phone is asleep.
- 26 ratings on iOS: a newer listing than the category leader, and about the same age as ours will be.
What QueryWatch does differently
- This is the closest competitor we have, and they beat us to iOS alerts. What differs is the shape of the free tier: every property, uncapped, with real numbers on each.
- Our alerts carry an evidence snapshot — the observed value, the baseline, the dates, the threshold and the top contributing pages at the moment it fired — so the alert still means something a week later.
- Prices are published before you install: $3.99 a month, $29.99 a year, 7-day trial on annual.
- Agency work is the focus: client tags and colours on the free tier, and a white-label PDF you can send to a client from your phone.
- The cannibalization detector and the watched-URL indexing monitor are not in their listing. Striking distance is closer to a draw: their Premium "CTR Quick Wins" does a similar job, and ours is on the free tier.
